songs

I heard a cute story today from one of my patients that rings true. How many times have you sang a song only to realize later that you had the words all wrong? My one that sticks out in my mind from childhood is "Life in the fast lane, surely make you lose your mind..." I was convinced that the words were "I'm in the Vaseline..." More recently a friend was singing a country song with me and we were being silly. The words actually state "put a lead foot down on my accelerator..." but my friend thought the song said "put my left foot down on the accelerator..." and even went so far as to ask how hard it would be to drive like that. I had to laugh for a little while and then explain the words.

So to the story...I typically don't like to share anything about my patients but this was too cute. A patient was telling me today that she heard the song "Hit me with your best shot" and later in the day, they were driving somewhere when her sister started singing "Hit me with your pet shop".

I guess we all do it from time to time but sure is fun to hear about it. So share yours!

I thought that Sharif dont like in, rock the casbah was "she really dont like it, rock the cashbar"...like either make sense:)

and another that isn't a song, just a jingle. The sara lee one... Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee. For years, until recently when I saw a truck with it on and almost died, I thought it was Nobody does it like sara lee. Or maybe its reverse...i still don't know which one it is...:)

And Matt started singing the song after your message...my little
80's nerd. You have to see his Bert (from Bert and Ernie on Sesame street) shirt that says "I'm bringing nerdy back". My list can go on and on of songs that I have so butchered!
