Talking to the house

After violin lessons, Sweet Pea asked to call her dad and tell him how well she did today. I dialed the number and handed her the phone and listened to her talk for a minute. Then she informed me that dad was not responding to her. I, thinking that she knew what she was talking about, called the number back and received the answering machine. I left a message and then tried his cell phone, only to be greeted by another answering service. After putting Sweet Pea in her car seat, I asked her what dad said before she told me that he was not talking. Sweet Pea responded, "I must have been talking to the house." Apparently, Sweet Pea received the answering machine and immediately started talking without listening first.

The entrance to the big toilet drain slide!

My husband wiping out on the body boarding!

Chuck E Cheese and Wilderness Waterpark

I attempted to upload a couple of pictures but it is not cooperating with me so...I will just let you know how our weekend was.
Friday night, we had dinner with some great friends to celebrate Matt's upcoming birthday. I miss spending time with friends and love every opportunity that I get with them to catch up on life. We are praying for Buddy!
Saturday, we visited Chuck E Cheese, like every other crazy person in the area! I got to hang out with my BFF, which always helps me unwind and reduces my stress level by a gazillion times. After Chuck E Cheese and Toys R Us, we came back to the house and broke down a little Sing Star 90's on the PlayStation. Our husbands will never listen to music the same way again!!! I guess it is one thing to sing along with your best friend in the car and a whole other thing to sing in front of your spouse.
Sunday, we went to church and then headed to the water park for a little relaxation and special time with the kids. The girls had so much fun. Pumpkin Pie convinced me to go down the huge water slide that is almost like a toilet flush for a human. It wasn't all that bad! Sweet Pea wasn't tall enough for it but we did ride the other two tube slides, one of which is completely in the dark. I thought that she would be terrified but she loved it. We played in the wave pool and Pumpkin Pie and her daddy tried body boarding. It was hilarious! Matt made it to his knees but ended up wiping out. Thank goodness he did not lose his shorts, like the kid before him. Pumpkin Pie wouldn't try to get to her knees but did hang out for a good ride. The kiddie play areas were nice and both of the kids enjoyed them. Our room wasn't too dirty (and I could attribute the problems to the fact that we had a male housekeeper). I am very picky about the cleanliness thing. The water park was clean too, with no nasty stuff on the ground or in the water. The bathrooms and showers were also clean. I guess we will see how long it lasts though, since it is a new water park. We are looking forward to going back as they continue to add on to the park. It was nice to get a break and give the kids a little extra attention.

Happy valentine's day (late)

Happy day after Valentine's Day! We didn't do anything special for Valentine's day but that happens when you have been married for a while (I guess). I did get the best gift ever when I got to hang out with my kids and husband. I enjoy being with my children so much.
The girls were embroidering with their grandmother today and Sweet Pea said a cutesy. She wanted Pumpkin Pie's thimble to use and stated to her, "Give me your bucket please."
Our week (almost two weeks) has been a struggle again. I have had a cold AGAIN and now the girls also have it. I am so sick of catching everything around. So, that's about it for this week since I feel bad. We are taking the girls on a special trip this weekend and Matt's birthday will be the weekend after that. Maybe I can remember and feel like blogging some soon.

Our Week

It has been a fairly busy week but very good! Pumpkin Pie started basketball recently and had her first ball game. They lost miserably but she scored four of the eight points! That was truly an amazing feat because she is miserably uncoordinated.
Friday night, I spent some time with a friend that I haven't got to see very much recently because of her school schedule. It was great to get some time away and relax. Saturday, I also got some time away. I ate lunch with two of my friends and caught up on their lives. One of them is expecting her first baby and I am very excited about it.
Saturday evening was quite an experience!!! I do not venture outside the realm of my normal foods. I have never been one to try new foods just for the pure fun of it. However, my best friend from college and her spouse came to town. They invited us to Misaki's for dinner and I decided to give it a try. Japanese food is not on the top of my list of foods that I like but the experience was wonderful. The kids loved the chef. He made a volcano snowman from onions and carrots and cucumbers, which was so cool. He also done some other amazing tricks and was awesome with his showmanship.
Our church is starting revival this Wednesday and I am looking forward to it. All that would like to come, let me know and I will give you the time and directions. I am praying for some blessings and miracles. I am also praying to expand myself, in that I do not want to limit my talents to working with children in a strictly therapeutic setting. I want to branch out and feel like the Lord is leading me in that direction. Please pray and also remember Sweet Pea in her journey. She is still contemplating salvation and where she stands on her readiness.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and will have a great week to come.
