Humans?

On our way to daycare today, we are driving through the neighborhood (on our way out)--

Sweet Pea: Hey mom, did you see that weird cat in that humans yard?

I have been pondering for most of the day "why human?" She could have said neighbor or person, but she chose the term "human". Maybe my child is not human after all. By the way, I did not get a peek of the "weird cat".

On another topic:
I understand that kids are inquisitive, especially around 3 to 5 years of age. Pumpkin Pie is beyond that age group but over the past several weeks, she has questioned everything. "what's that?, what are chemicals?, How come you done..., Where did ___ come from?", etc...and on and on and on. I try to answer the questions but it isn't fair; she is increasing the difficulty level of the questions.

I tell you Mrs. B, you are going to be full of it after this. Too bad I can't share some of the stuff that I hear from the kids at work or you would really be ready to hit the world. I will definitely have to check in to that book because I am running out of answers and "just because I said so" used to always get on my nerves.

that was mom and dad's favorite answer...because I said so. At least as I remember it...its funny how what you remember as a kid...I think alot of times it really isn't true reality, more kid reality.
