Appreciation

As I done laundry this evening, I thought about all of the things that I dislike doing and how I need to be a more positive person (keep in mind that I am surrounded by bad situations all day long). So I thought about the following:
1. I appreciate doing two loads of laundry every day because...it means that I have someone else in my life that I can wash clothes for.
2. I appreciate doing dishes because...it means that I was blessed to have food to put on a plate.
3. I appreciate picking up toys after my kids because...many people don't get the opportunity to have a child brighten their life or are able to give their kids toys to play with.
4. I appreciate the phone ringing in the middle of supper (unless it is a telemarketer) because...it means that I have friends that want to talk to me.
5. I appreciate telemarketers because...they have a job and are at least working.
6. I appreciate bathing my kids every night because...I get to spend that time talking to them and showing them that I love them enough to keep them clean.
7. I appreciate my husband mowing our yard because...we have a yard to allow the kids to play in. I don't have to worry about them playing out in the street or if the neighborhood is safe enough for them to walk out in.
8. I appreciate cleaning my house because...I have things worth keeping clean (yeah, I know that one was weak but...)
9. I appreciate going to work every day because...I have a job that I love and I know that one way or the other, I am influencing someones life and I have the opportunity to make a change.
10. I appreciate being tired all of the time because...I am able to work, spend time with friends and family, and have all of the above things mentioned to take care of every day, plus some.

I invite everyone else to share the things that they appreciate the most. I never tell my friends or even my children enough how much I love and appreciate them. Keep in mind that for every negative comment that you make to a child, it requires three hugs to make up that one thing. How many times am I negative in a day? A lot more than three and if I am negative with others, I can't be a positive influence on my family or on the kids that look to me to help them every day.
